FOUNDED IN 1993
In 1993, when Roy Prior established Royland Contractors Ltd (RCL), even amid a challenging economic downturn, he worked hard in securing contracts for projects at Rochester and Swaleside Prisons.
More than three decades later, Royland’s steadfast approach and visionary leadership have facilitated consistent growth, enabling the company to diversify and expand its services to adapt to the evolving demands of the industry.
A FAMILY BUSINESS
Royland has consistently adhered to a family-centric business approach, actively prioritising the well-being and development of its employees. This dedication is evident in the proficiency of the staff and the enduring tenure of key personnel. Notably, the Royland team comprises family members, including fathers, wives, brothers, uncles, sons, cousins, and even a grandson—a testament to the strong confidence employees place in their own families within the company.
A particular contributor is Roy's brother, Shaun Prior, who joined Royland in 1996, bringing along 15 years of industry experience. Having undertaken various pivotal roles at Royland, Shaun currently holds the position of Managing Director, allowing Roy to assume the Chairman role. This strategic leadership transition underscores the family-oriented and sustainable ethos embedded in the company's structure and values.
